Washington(ANN)-The Pentagon on its official Twitter account has called on US President Donald Trump to resign, but then quickly deleted the post.

The US Department of Defense, which has more than 5 million followers, retweeted the post on Thursday that included a call for President Trump to resign.

The post also called for Alabama Republican Senate candidate Roy Moore to end his campaign and for Senator Al Franken (D-Minn.) to resign from Congress.

“GOP: Stop making sexual assault a partisan issue. It’s a crime as is your hypocrisy,” the post read, referring to the new “groping” allegation against Franken, as well as sexual misconduct allegations against Moore and Trump.

On Wednesday, four more women leveled sexual assault accusations against Moore, in a damaging sex scandal that has cost the Alabamian dearly in the heat of the campaign.

Last Thursday, The Washington Post published the first case. The report accused more Moore of taking Leigh Corfman, now 53, into his house in the woods near Gadsden, when she was 14 years old, and abusing her by removing her shirt and pants.

So far, nine women have come out against the Republican hopeful, who has lost many endorsements from his fellow party members.

Senator Franken is facing a woman’s allegations that he groped her as she slept in a rehearsal for a comedy skit. Franken, a former Saturday Night Live writer, apologized for the incident.

Sexual harassment by Trump has been in the news for long and even has its own dedicated Wikipedia entry.

A Pentagon spokesman said in a statement on Thursday that an operator of the Pentagon’s official Twitter site “erroneously retweeted content that would not be endorsed by the Department of Defense. The operator caught this error and immediately deleted it.”
