Tehran | Washington (ANN) –
A new wave of controversy has emerged following claims by Iran that it has captured dozens of elite U.S. soldiers during a recent military operation.
According to Iranian sources, approximately 50 members of the U.S. Army’s elite Delta Force were allegedly detained during a mission to rescue a downed American airman inside Iranian territory.
Iranian officials have gone further by publishing what they claim are the names of several captured personnel, including:
Sgt. Michael Anderson (34)
Staff Sgt. David Miller (31)
Sgt. Daniel Roberts (29)
Sgt. James Walker (33)
Cpl. Ryan Mitchel (28)
Sgt. Christopher Evans (35)
Staff Sgt. Kevin Scott (30)
Sgt. Brian Taylor (32)
However, the claims remain unverified.
U.S. Denial
The United States Central Command (CENTCOM) has firmly denied the allegations, stating that no U.S. troops have been captured and dismissing the reports as false.

Officials emphasized that there is currently no independent confirmation from neutral observers, international organizations, or credible monitoring groups.

Information War Intensifies
Analysts say the situation reflects a broader information  war between Washington and Tehran, where competing narratives are often deployed alongside military developments.

If Iran’s claims were to be substantiated, it would mark a significant escalation and a major strategic embarrassment for the United States. However, without verifiable evidence, experts caution against drawing conclusions.

Historical Echoes
The incident has drawn comparisons to the failed Operation Eagle Claw, a U.S. attempt to rescue hostages in Iran that ended in disaster.
While some commentators suggest parallels, others argue that the current situation—if confirmed—would represent a fundamentally different geopolitical context with far-reaching implications.

Global Concerns
The claims come amid heightened tensions between Iran and the United States, raising concerns about:
Potential military escalation
Regional instability in the Middle East
Risks to international security and energy routes
Observers warn that misinformation or premature conclusions could further inflame an already volatile situation.
Conclusion
At present, the alleged capture of U.S. قوات special forces remains a claim without independent verification.
As conflicting narratives continue to emerge, the international community is watching closely for credible evidence that can clarify what truly happened.
