Taipei, Taiwan (ANN) – June 12, 2026 – The Republic of Somaliland has officially inaugurated the new headquarters of its Representative Office in Taipei, Taiwan, marking another milestone in the growing partnership between the two governments.
The opening ceremony was attended by diplomats, senior officials from the Taiwanese government, business leaders, and representatives of international media organizations, highlighting the increasing importance of bilateral relations between Somaliland and Taiwan.
The ribbon-cutting ceremony was jointly led by Somaliland’s Representative to Taiwan, Ambassador Mahmoud Adam Jama Galaal, and Taiwan’s Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, François Chihchung Wu. The event symbolized the continued strengthening of diplomatic engagement and cooperation between the two sides.
The inauguration of the new office is expected to further enhance collaboration in areas including trade, investment, education, technology, and international cooperation, reflecting the expanding relationship between Somaliland and Taiwan.
The opening also underscores Somaliland’s efforts to broaden its international partnerships and diplomatic presence while deepening ties with like-minded partners in the Indo-Pacific region.
