HARGEISA (ANN) — A historic interview featuring the late Ambassador Ahmed Mohamed Adan (Qaybe), a veteran Somali diplomat and former Speaker of the Somaliland House of Representatives, has resurfaced more than two decades after it was recorded.
The interview, conducted approximately 22 years ago, offers a rare insight into the political debates and challenges facing Somalia and Somaliland at a critical period in the region’s history.
The interview was conducted by journalist Carrale Mahmoud Jama, who was representing Haatuf Newspaper, and journalist Ahmed Hussein Warsame, who was working with the former Space Channel Television.
At the time, Ambassador Qaybe discussed major political developments, including the Somali peace process and the conference being held in Nairobi, Kenya, as part of international efforts to establish a new Somali government.
