Iran FM Condemns US Aggression in Call with Pakistan Army Chief Asim Munir

TEHRAN (ANN/Tasnim) – Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi has strongly condemned recent US military attacks on Iran during a telephone conversation with Pakistan’s Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces, Field Marshal Asim Munir, warning against any further military escalation.
According to Iranian media reports, the two officials discussed the latest regional developments and the implications of ongoing tensions following the war and subsequent diplomatic efforts in Islamabad.
Araqchi described the US military strikes on various parts of Iran as a “clear violation of the United Nations Charter” and an explicit breach of the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), which was aimed at ending hostilities and creating a framework for dialogue.
The Iranian foreign minister said statements by US officials suggesting that Washington is not fully committed to the memorandum demonstrate what he called a pattern of bad faith and the continuation of confrontational policies.
He warned that any further military action would be met with a determined response, emphasizing that the Iranian people and the Armed Forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran remain committed to defending the country’s sovereignty, territorial integrity, and national security.
Field Marshal Asim Munir, who has played an important mediating role in contacts between Tehran and Washington, discussed the latest regional developments with Araqchi amid continued diplomatic efforts to preserve stability in the region.
The phone call comes at a time of heightened concern over the future of the Islamabad process, with regional actors closely watching whether the ceasefire framework and diplomatic understandings reached earlier this year can prevent a return to wider conflict.
