TEHRAN (ANN) —
The Iranian Armed Forces have warned the United States that it will face what Tehran described as a “crushing and devastating” response following a new wave of American airstrikes against military positions in Iran’s southern provinces.
In a statement issued Tuesday, the General Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces said the attacks on positions in Sistan and Balouchestan and Hormozgan would carry serious consequences for Washington.
The military command declared that Iran would impose what it called “heavy costs” on the United States and warned that continued American military actions in the region would lead to greater losses.
“Under no circumstances will we compromise the rights of the heroic Iranian nation, and we will impose heavy costs on the American enemy,” the statement said.
Iranian Army Claims Drone Attack on Bahrain Base
The warning was followed by a separate claim from the Islamic Republic of Iran Army, which said it had launched a large-scale kamikaze-drone operation against what it identified as U.S. military assets at Shaikh Isa Air Base in southern Bahrain.
According to the Army’s Public Relations department, the attack represented the 29th phase of “Operation Lightning.”
Iran said the operation was conducted in response to the latest American strikes against southern Iranian territory.
The Iranian Army claimed that heavy waves of drones targeted radar facilities and gathering points associated with U.S. forces at the Bahrain air base.
The Army described the operation as a direct response to what Tehran considers American aggression.
