Hargeisa (ANN) – Somaliland President Abdirahman Mohamed Abdillahi (Cirro) departed Hargeisa on an unannounced foreign trip, prompting speculation about its destination and purpose after no official statement was issued by the Presidency before or immediately after his departure.
According to information available to Araweelo News Network, the President left from Egal International Airport accompanied by the First Lady and the Chief of Cabinet before boarding an Ethiopian Airlines flight. However, the Presidency has not disclosed the itinerary or objectives of the visit.
The trip comes just two days after the visit to Hargeisa by the commander of U.S. Special Operations Forces in Africa. Although meetings were held with Somaliland officials, no official details were released regarding the subjects discussed. The timing has led to widespread speculation, but no evidence has been presented linking the two events.
Conflicting reports have emerged regarding the President’s destination. Some reports suggest he is traveling to the United Arab Emirates for meetings, while others claim Kenya could be among the stops. although some reports say that the President of Kenya is planning a national administration plan for Somalia in Puntland and Juba land, the United States will hold a meeting, which is related to protecting the interests of the United States in the region, of which Somaliland is a part, But Araweelo News Network has not independently verified these reports, and no official confirmation has been provided by Somaliland authorities.
