Washington (ANN)- New report suggests the total financial cost of the recent conflict with Iran to the United States could be far higher than previously disclosed, with overall losses potentially approaching or exceeding $100 billion.
According to the report, while the Pentagon has publicly estimated the cost of military operations at roughly $30 billion, internal assessments and U.S. officials reportedly believe the broader economic impact may be substantially greater once damage to military assets and infrastructure is fully included.
The report says the Pentagon’s initial estimate primarily covered operational expenses and the use of munitions, including Tomahawk cruise missiles, but did not fully account for reported damage to aircraft, military bases, and other strategic facilities.
It further claims that more than 40 U.S. military aircraft were damaged or destroyed during the conflict. Iranian strikes also reportedly caused significant damage to key American installations, including the U.S. Navy’s Fifth Fleet headquarters in Manama, Bahrain, and military bases in Kuwait.
According to the report, repairs to these facilities alone could cost at least $5 billion, adding to the overall financial burden.
If confirmed, these estimates would significantly alter public understanding of both the economic and strategic consequences of the conflict, highlighting costs that extend well beyond the Pentagon’s initial public figures.
