Hargeisa (ANN) – Somaliland President Abdirahman Mohamed Abdillahi (Cirro) visited Hargeisa General Hospital on Wednesday morning following public complaints from patients over healthcare services, particularly concerns about the hospital’s dialysis unit.
The visit came after kidney patients appealed for urgent government intervention, claiming that several dialysis machines were not functioning properly, disrupting treatment for patients who rely on the life-saving service.
During his visit, President Cirro met with patients receiving treatment, listened to their concerns, and held discussions with the hospital’s management and health officials about the challenges facing the facility.
According to the Presidency, the President reaffirmed his government’s commitment to improving healthcare services and addressing the needs of patients. He said the government was aware of the concerns raised and was working to resolve the problems affecting the dialysis unit and other essential medical services.
The President emphasized that improving public healthcare remains one of his administration’s priorities and assured patients that efforts are underway to strengthen services at Hargeisa General Hospital.
The visit follows growing public concern over the availability of dialysis treatment, with many citizens calling for urgent investment in medical equipment and hospital infrastructure to ensure uninterrupted care for patients with kidney disease.
