Hargeysa(ANN)- The Somaliland Journalists Association (SOLJA) has condemned the arrest of journalist Abdimalik Muse Oldon, a well-known journalist in the field of humanitarian work and support for the vulnerable.

Abdimalik Muse Oldon, was arrested on 19 August 2021, by police in Burao, the capital of Togdheer region, and was immediately taken to Hargeisa Prison.

At a meeting of the SOLJA Executive Council, held at the SOLJA headquarters in Hargeisa on Tuesday, SOLJA Chairman, Zakariye Ahmed Muhumed, spoke to the media, saying that as an organization they condemned the arrest of journalist Abdimalik, which was against the rules and the laws of the Country.

“SOLJA stands for the protection of journalists and condemns the process of arresting journalist Abdimalik, and he must be brought to justice immediately so that he can be prosecuted,” he said.
