Prime Minister Netanyahu, People of Israel,

On behalf of the people of Somaliland, we extend our heartfelt gratitude for your historic recognition of our nation as an independent and sovereign state.

For more than three decades, Somaliland has lived with the painful reality of being stateless despite our democratic governance, stability, and commitment to peace. We have long suffered the absence of recognition, yet we never abandoned our hope. Today, Israel has given us a hand of friendship and dignity, ending our isolation and affirming our rightful place among nations.

Prime Minister Netanyahu, your words of partnership and your vision of cooperation in agriculture and social development deeply resonate with us. These are the very sectors that will uplift our people and strengthen our future. Your invitation to our President, Dr. Abdirahman Mohamed Abdallah “Cirro”, to visit Israel is received with honor and appreciation. It is a symbol of the bond we now share.

We remember with pride that Israel was among the first nations to recognize Somaliland’s independence on 26 June 1960. Today, you have once again written history by becoming the first nation to recognize Somaliland in this new era. This is the second time Israel has stood with us, and it will forever be remembered as a gesture of solidarity, courage, and friendship. The people of Somaliland appreciate not only the recognition but also the empathy behind it. Israel understands the struggles of statehood and survival, and that understanding makes this moment even more meaningful.

From the people of Somaliland to the people of Israel: thank you for believing in us, for recognizing our right to freedom, and for extending your hand in partnership. May this new chapter bring prosperity, peace, and enduring bonds between our nations.

Israel officially recognized Somaliland as an independent and sovereign state, with Prime Minister Netanyahu inviting President Dr. Abdirahman Mohamed Abdallah to visit Israel and pledging cooperation in agriculture and social development.
