There is an African proverb that says:

“If a chameleon wants to escape a burning bush, it must abandon the walking style of its ancestors.”

The undesired impact and the challenging treatment of climate change is a shared provocation that requires coordinated action across all levels of human society. This profound shift in world temperature and extreme global warming has resulted in unbearable consequences for nature and has totally disrupted the life cycle of actively protecting, managing, and restoring Earth’s natural habitats and biodiversity, as well as living entities. Thus, these distinct sets of circumstances make it a matter of compulsory duty for the world population to seek scientific solutions and set new mechanisms through which man could lessen the intensity of negative penalties caused by ecological disruption.

Our tiny country is not exceptional; we are part of the whole world and should actively remain committed to contributing our efforts to environmental preservation alongside international endeavors and collective responsibilities to mitigate the unforeseen human experience.

It is obvious that our livestock, which is bound to be the backbone of our economy, is dwindling and less productive. The price of commodities has been skyrocketing day after day, water is getting scarce, and the poor are becoming poorer. But we Somalilanders don’t realize that these misfortunes are not temporary hits of a natural pandemic or ecological collapse; rather, they are acts of unfair treatment, violations of rights, and undeserved outcomes for our people. I believe 90% of these calamities are the reward of our deliberate violation of divine law or rebellion against God, which requires us to reverse course through collective social engagement and morally decent habits aligned with ethical principles.

I dare say, if we put aside everything that politically divides us, impart ourselves to be involved in the significant changes that civilized communities are pursuing (rather than not doing enough, sitting around, and chattering through media, etc.), and pull our hearts and minds together to take our destiny into our own hands, we will be able to reach the place where we should be.

It is obvious that human existence is secured by applying productive forces—extracting ourselves from babbling, unrewarded actions—and processing natural resources into products that satisfy our needs and demands. We are powerful beings who are able to make changes. Human beings distinguished themselves from other creatures by inventing mechanisms to enable them to develop their well-being and take charge of their destiny. By applying indigenous mechanisms to maintain our role, we set rules for pragmatic government systems that lead our nation toward a preservative manner of practical results and value-driven actions, enabling us to share with this devastated world dominated by hegemonic forces.

Remember, happiness and satisfaction are not a matter of richness, but a matter of faith.

Logic will get you from A to Z, but imagination will get you everywhere.

Anyone who has never made mistakes has never tried anything—so let us try, so as to avoid unprecedented losses to nature and rapid decline in biodiversity.

Severe drought has ravaged not only our country but the entire region and beyond. We are all aware of the unpleasant state of total ruin and profound destruction that our people are witnessing.

Preserving society is not for those who always pursue solving their internal problems, but for those who practice their integrity and avoid specific measures or prelude issues that trigger their political differences.
