The Absence of Unity in the Muslim World:
Causes of Division, Weakness and Western Manipulation.
Introduction
The Muslim world once stood at the pinnacle of human civilization, a beacon of knowledge, justice and power. From Andalusia;( today southern Spain and Portugal ) to Baghdad, from Cairo to Timbuktu ( today Mali, West Africa ), Muslims illuminated the world with science, philosophy, art and governance, from the 8th to the 15th centuries.
At that time, Muslims were united under one creed, guided by divine revelation and driven by the pursuit of truth and justice.
Today, however, that glorious image has faded. The Muslim world is fragmented into weak states, each struggling with poverty, corruption, dependency and internal conflicts, Instead of defending one another, Muslims often find themselves on opposite sides of battlefields, using weapons made by their enemies.
This message seeks to uncover the root causes behind this decline, the deliberate manipulation by external powers and most importantly, the path toward revival and unity.
1. Causes of Division and Disunity
1.1 Western Colonialism and Its Lasting
Impact:
• The disintegration of powerful Islamic caliphates (khalifa), particularly the Ottoman Empire, led to the partitioning of the Muslim world into artificial states and borders. The Caliphate represents unity, justice and leadership under the Islamic law – the Sharia.
• Colonial powers exploited ethnic, tribal and sectarian differences to ensure Muslims never regain unified strength.
• Western nations installed puppet rulers, leaders loyal to foreign interests rather than their own people.
• This deliberate strategy ensured continuous fragmentation, dependence and conflicts among Muslim states, for the truth is that “ They divided us into nations so that we may fight each other, not to fight them.”
2. Religious and Political Fragmentation
• The Islamic world communities have been torn apart by sectarian divisions: Sunni vs. Shia, Salafi vs. Sufi and other ideological camps that often prioritize identity over unity.
• Political leaders and clerics sometimes exploit these religious differences to maintain control and suppress opposition.
• Instead of working collectively for the common good, each Muslim country acts in isolation, pursuing its own short-term interests while ignoring the collective destiny of the nation.
• Extremism and fanaticism have distorted the pure message of Islam, creating mistrust and bloodshed among believers.
. The sects within the Muslim communities are influenced and directed by Jews who have adopted Arab identity, language and culture, pretended -Arab Jews who create division, internal bloodshed and conflicts among Muslims, while altering the external identities of these sects to conceal their true motives and intentions.
3. Economic Weakness and Lack of Independence
3.1: Poor Governance and Corruption
• Many Muslim countries suffer from autocratic rulers more concerned with maintaining personal power than serving their people.
• Corruption drains national wealth, leaving citizens in poverty while a few elites live in luxury.
• Public services such as health, education and infrastructure deteriorate, deepening the cycle of poverty and dependence.
• National economies remain vulnerable, dependent on foreign aid, imports and the exploitation of natural resources by multinational corporations.
3.2. Externally Controlled Economic Systems:
• International financial institutions like the IMF and World Bank provide loans under harsh conditions that trap Muslim countries in debt and dependency.
• Vital resources, oil, gas and minerals are governed by exploitative contracts that benefit foreign companies more than local populations.
• Despite immense wealth, many Muslim nations cannot manage their resources independently or build sustainable industries.
• As a result, the Muslim world remains rich in resources but poor in power.
4. Constant Western Interference
4.1. Fear of a United Muslim World
• Western powers have long feared a unified Islamic bloc that could challenge their dominance militarily, economically and ideologically.
• They therefore support weak regimes and oppose visionary leaders who strive for independence and unity, like Tarore of Perkins Vaso, as an example.
• The fall of strong, independent Muslim nations is not accidental, it is strategically engineered to prevent collective awakening.
• Every attempt at reform or unity faces sabotage through political, economic or military means.
4.2 Deliberate Destabilization and Engineered Uprisings
• The tragedies of Syria, Libya, Yemen and Iraq demonstrate how foreign interference and internal betrayal destroy nations from within.
• Western and regional powers manipulate civil unrest to create chaos, not freedom.
• Instead of liberation, the Muslim world witnesses regime changes, proxy wars and endless suffering.
• Terrorism and war on terror. The so-called war on terror serves as a convenient narrative to justify foreign occupation, intelligence surveillance and continuous military presence in the territories of the Muslim lands.
5. Weapons and the Disregard for Muslim Blood:
5.1 Muslims Using Enemy Weapons Against Each Other:
• The majority of wars between Muslim countries are fought using foreign-manufactured weapons from the United States, Russia, China and Europe.
• Each bullet, missile or drone used by Muslims against fellow Muslims strengthens the enemy’s economy and weakens the Muslim dignity.
• Muslim nations invest billions in arms imports while their schools, hospitals and research centers collapse from neglect, the enemies sell us weapons to destroy one another, while they unite to dominate us.
5.2 Decline of Islamic Brotherhood
• The Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) described the Muslims as one body, when one part suffers, the whole feels the pain.
• Yet today, some Muslims rejoice over the downfall of others, forgetting that unity is a divine obligation, not a political choice.
• Sectarianism and nationalism have replaced Islamic brotherhood, leading to moral decay and the loss of collective identity.
6. What Needs to Be Done? The Path to Revival.
6.1 Political Unity and Muslim Cooperation:
• The Muslim world must revitalize organizations like the Organization of Islamic Cooperation and give them real authority and enforcement power.
• Establish economic, educational and defense alliances based on mutual respect and shared destiny.
• Strengthen diplomatic ties and develop a joint defense system to protect the sovereignty and dignity of all Muslim nations.
• Replace narrow nationalism with Pan-Islamic cooperation grounded in justice and mutual progress.
6.2 Advancing Knowledge, Science and Technology:
• Reclaim Islam’s heritage as a civilization of knowledge and discovery.
• Invest heavily in research, education and innovation, as Many leaders reduce Islam to merely religious rhetoric, using sacred language to gain power, while abandoning its true principles of justice, unity and compassion.
• Build universities, laboratories and industries that reflect Islamic values and modern excellence.
• Empower the youth with critical thinking, faith and competence, so that they can compete globally and lead their nations toward independence.
6.3 Raising Public Awareness and Intellectual Reform:
• Promote enlightened understanding of Islam, a faith of peace, unity and wisdom, not extremism or division.
• Educate citizens about the dangers of foreign manipulation and the need for intellectual freedom.
• Encourage media literacy to resist propaganda and misinformation.
• Cultivate moral leadership, where serving the community replaces personal ambition.
Conclusion
The crisis facing the Muslim world is not the result of a single wound but a combination of historical betrayal, political fragmentation, intellectual stagnation and external interference.
However, despair is not an option.
The seeds of renewal lie within the muslims themselves, faith, youth and untapped potential.
If Muslims awaken from heedlessness, unite beyond borders and commit to knowledge, justice and sincerity, they can once again rise as leaders of humanity, not through domination, but through wisdom, mercy and enlightenment.
