Somaliland Community in Finland Honors National Electoral Commission Leadership

HELSINKI, Finland (ANN)— The Somaliland community in Finland has paid tribute to the leadership of the Somaliland National Electoral Commission (NEC) by presenting a Certificate of Appreciation to the commission’s chairman and delegation during an official working visit to the country.
The event, organized by the Somaliland community in Finland under the leadership of community chairman Hassan Omar Hurre, brought together members of the diaspora to welcome and recognize the electoral officials for their service to Somaliland’s democratic process.
The delegation was led by NEC Chairman Muse Hassan Yusuf and included senior members of the commission. During their visit, the officials engaged with members of the Somaliland diaspora, discussing electoral developments, democratic governance, and the important role that Somaliland communities abroad continue to play in supporting national institutions.

Speaking at the ceremony, Hassan Omar Hurre commended the National Electoral Commission for its dedication to safeguarding Somaliland’s democratic achievements. He praised the commission’s leadership for successfully managing complex electoral responsibilities and strengthening public confidence in the country’s democratic institutions.

“The National Electoral Commission carries a significant national responsibility, and its efforts have contributed greatly to the credibility and stability of Somaliland’s electoral process,” Hurre said while presenting the certificate of appreciation on behalf of the Somaliland community in Finland.
The recognition reflects the diaspora’s appreciation of the commission’s work in organizing and overseeing elections that have earned Somaliland a reputation for peaceful democratic transitions and political stability in the Horn of Africa.
In response, NEC Chairman Muse Hassan Yusuf and members of his delegation expressed their sincere gratitude to the Somaliland community in Finland for the warm reception and hospitality extended to them during their stay.
