Istanbul (ANN)– The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Israel has strongly condemned what it described as a “terrorist attack” targeting the Israeli consulate in Istanbul, praising Turkish authorities for their swift response in preventing further damage.
In a brief statement, the ministry said it “appreciates the immediate action of Turkish security forces in thwarting this attack,” adding that Israeli missions worldwide continue to face persistent threats.
“Israel’s operations around the world have faced countless threats and terrorist attacks. We will not be deterred by terror,” the statement said.
The incident comes at a time of heightened public anger in Turkey, particularly following ongoing military developments involving Iran. Reports indicate that segments of the Turkish public have recently voiced strong opposition to airstrikes attributed to the United States and Israel, especially those allegedly impacting civilian infrastructure such as factories, medical facilities, and economic centers.
The broader conflict—now approaching its sixth week—has significantly increased tensions across the region, drawing reactions from governments, political figures, and citizens alike. Iranian officials have repeatedly accused both the United States and Israel of targeting civilian sites, allegations that have further fueled public demonstrations and political debate in neighboring countries.
Security measures around diplomatic missions in Turkey have reportedly been heightened following the incident, as authorities seek to prevent further unrest.
Analysts warn that the convergence of public protests, political rhetoric, and ongoing military conflict risks deepening instability across the Middle East, with diplomatic missions increasingly becoming focal points amid rising tensions.
