Tehran (ANN) — Conflicting reports emerging from Iran indicate that American forces have so far failed to recover a pilot from a downed fighter jet reportedly shot down within Iranian territory.
According to Iran’s semi-official Tasnim News Agency, sources in Kohgiluyeh and Boyer-Ahmad Province stated that US forces launched a search-and-rescue operation earlier الجمعة involving helicopters and military aircraft. The mission reportedly included Black Hawk helicopter units and a C-130 Hercules, but has not yet succeeded in locating or extracting the pilot.
The reports suggest the aircraft—allegedly an advanced F-35 Lightning II—was shot down by Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC). Iranian officials claim the pilot ejected before the crash and landed داخل الأراضي الإيرانية.
In a statement, the IRGC said this marks the second F-35 it has destroyed in recent operations, adding that the aircraft belonged to a squadron based at RAF Lakenheath. The group asserted that the jet was completely destroyed after being targeted by its advanced الدفاع الجوي systems.

Iranian state broadcaster IRIB also reported that civilians gathered near the reported crash site, with some traveling in private vehicles toward the area.
Escalating Conflict
These developments come amid a dramatic escalation in tensions following the reported assassination of Ali Khamenei on February 28. Iran has accused the United States and Israel of carrying out widespread airstrikes targeting both military and civilian infrastructure.
In retaliation, Iranian forces have reportedly launched missile and drone attacks against US and Israeli-linked positions across the region.
Unverified Claims
It is important to note that these reports remain unverified by independent or US official sources. واشنطن لم تصدر حتى الآن أي بيان يؤكد أو ينفي الحادثة، مما يترك العديد من التفاصيل غير واضحة.
Analysts warn that information emerging during active conflicts can be highly contested and influenced by propaganda, making independent confirmation critical.
