Beijing (ANN)- Calls are growing for greater international intervention as tensions continue to escalate in the Middle East following the ongoing confrontation involving Iran, Israel, and the United States.
In Beijing, commentary linked to officials and analysts referenced remarks from the spokesperson of Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the People’s Republic of China, arguing that the declaration of war and military aggression by Israel and the United States against Iran violates internationally recognized principles of sovereignty and territorial integrity.
The statement described the situation as an existential threat for Iran and warned that instability in the country could severely disrupt global energy supplies and international value chains, given Iran’s strategic location near key oil shipping routes in the Persian Gulf.
The analysis also criticized U.S. President Donald Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, claiming they are attempting to draw Gulf states into the widening conflict.
However, countries along the southern shores of the Persian Gulf have so far exercised caution despite diplomatic pressure, according to the commentary.
Observers suggested that China, which maintains relations with both Iran and Gulf states, could play a crucial diplomatic role. Under Beijing’s Global Security Initiative, analysts argue that China could help establish a new regional security framework involving Iran, Gulf Arab countries, and Pakistan.
Drone Strike Reported in Dubai
Meanwhile, the regional conflict appears to be spreading beyond traditional battle zones.
Authorities in Dubai reported that a drone struck a building linked to the United States Consulate General Dubai as Iran continues retaliatory operations across the region.
Videos circulating on social media showed thick smoke rising from the area after the strike. Local officials later confirmed that a missile or drone impacted the building, although the extent of damage and potential casualties was not immediately clear.
The United Arab Emirates has heightened security and emergency measures as tensions escalate across the Gulf.
Analysts warn that continued strikes on strategic locations and diplomatic facilities could further internationalize the conflict and increase pressure on global powers to intervene diplomatically before the situation spirals into a broader regional war.
