“The Government Should Clarify Whether There Is Any Agreement with Israel,” Says Former President Col. Muse Bihi
Hargeisa (ANN)- The former President of the Republic of Somaliland, Col. Muse Bihi Abdi, has spoken publicly about the current political situation in the country and the regional political tensions linked to discussions surrounding possible recognition involving Israel.
In his remarks, the former president addressed what he described as a political storm resulting from debates related to Somaliland’s international recognition.
He also spoke critically about political positions that he said oppose cooperation with Arab countries and Turkey in matters related to Somaliland’s national interests.
Col. Muse Bihi also accused the President of the Federal Government of Somalia, Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, of contributing to instability and political disruption in the region. He claimed such actions could undermine the stability and security of Somaliland.
On the other hand, the former president called on the current administration led by President Abdirahman Mohamed Abdillahi (Irro) to clarify to the public whether any formal agreement exists between Somaliland and Israel, if such discussions are ongoing.
Col. Muse Bihi shared these political views in a video message circulated to media outlets. The message coincided with the beginning of the holy month of Ramadan, which marks an important period of fasting and spiritual reflection across the Muslim world.
The remarks come at a time of heightened political discussion in the region regarding diplomacy, recognition, and geopolitical alliances.
