Tehran (ANN)- Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian has claimed that several countries have begun diplomatic efforts to mediate and potentially end the escalating conflict between Iran, the United States, and Israel.
In a statement posted on the social media platform X, Pezeshkian said that mediation efforts are already being discussed but emphasized that any negotiations must address what he described as those responsible for triggering the war.
“Mediation should address those who underestimated the Iranian people and ignited this conflict,” the Iranian president wrote, suggesting that Tehran believes the responsibility for the escalation lies with Washington and Tel Aviv.
The comments come amid rising tensions following joint military strikes reportedly launched by the United States and Israel against Iranian targets last Saturday, dramatically increasing fears of a wider regional war.
Several regional powers have stepped forward with offers to help broker a diplomatic solution. According to diplomatic sources, Qatar, Turkey, Egypt, and Oman have all offered at various points to mediate between the parties involved.
These countries have historically played important roles in regional diplomacy, particularly in sensitive negotiations involving Iran and Western powers. Oman, in particular, has previously served as a quiet intermediary in talks between Tehran and Washington.
Analysts say the mediation efforts reflect growing concern across the Middle East that the confrontation could spiral into a prolonged and destructive regional war involving multiple actors.
Despite the diplomatic outreach, no formal negotiations have yet been announced, and military tensions remain high as both sides continue to exchange threats and prepare for potential further escalation.
Regional observers note that the coming days could prove decisive in determining whether diplomacy gains traction or whether the conflict expands further across the Middle East.
