Tehran / Middle East (ANN)- The commander of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps Aerospace Force has indicated that the ongoing conflict in the region is entering a more intense phase of aerial bombardment, signaling a major shift in Tehran’s military tactics.
According to Iranian military statements, the next stage of operations could involve large waves of missile launches, moving beyond isolated strikes toward a sustained campaign designed to pressure regional defense systems.
Testing Regional Air Defenses
Military analysts say these “missile launch waves” are intended to test and potentially overwhelm multi-layered air defense networks protecting allied assets in the region, including systems such as Iron Dome and the Aegis Combat System.
By increasing both the volume and timing of missile salvos, Iranian forces could attempt to deplete interceptor stockpiles and exploit gaps in defensive coverage during periods of heightened tension.
Defense experts believe the escalation may involve the deployment of advanced hypersonic weapons and medium-range ballistic missiles that have previously been kept in reserve.
“Retaliation-in-Kind” Strategy
The development comes after recent strikes on Iranian military facilities, which analysts say may have pushed Tehran toward a more aggressive “retaliation-in-kind” strategy under the country’s current leadership.
The objective of the increased missile waves is not only military impact but also psychological pressure, targeting civilian morale and potentially affecting maritime shipping routes across the region.
Security specialists warn that the growing frequency of missile launches increases the risk of miscalculation or large-scale civilian casualties, a scenario that could trigger broader international intervention.
Global Monitoring of Missile Activity
International intelligence agencies are reportedly monitoring satellite data for activity around known missile bases and underground launch complexes, often referred to as Iran’s “missile cities.”
These facilities, believed to house mobile launch platforms and underground silos, allow Iranian forces to conceal and rapidly deploy missile systems during periods of conflict.
As the threat of intensified strikes grows, neighboring countries face mounting pressure to strengthen their air defenses or pursue urgent diplomatic efforts to prevent the conflict from expanding further.
