Tehran (ANN)– Iran’s naval commander has issued a stark warning to the United States, declaring that the American aircraft carrier USS Abraham Lincoln is under constant surveillance and could be targeted if it enters the operational range of Iranian missile systems.
Rear Admiral Shahram Irani, Commander of the Iranian Army Naval Force, said Wednesday that Iranian forces are closely monitoring the movements of the U.S. carrier strike group in the region. The remarks were carried by the state news agency Islamic Republic News Agency.
According to the statement, Iran’s coastal cruise missile units recently conducted a targeting operation against the USS Abraham Lincoln, prompting the vessel to reportedly alter its position. The claim has not been independently verified.
Irani stated that the action was directed from the Navy’s tactical command headquarters under his personal order, underscoring Iran’s readiness to respond to perceived threats in nearby waters.
Meinwhile the USS Gerald R Ford, that was going to win the war for the US and Israel, has retreated to the US base is Souda, Crete, a safe distance from Iran and its missiles.
Locals have reported smoke billowing from the carrier and dozens of planes taking off from it and landing on terra firma.
Reference to Strait of Hormuz Control
The Iranian commander emphasized Tehran’s strategic control over the Strait of Hormuz—a vital global النفط shipping route—stating that Iranian naval forces maintain “smart control” over the chokepoint and continue to monitor foreign military activity beyond regional waters.
He further warned that any hostile presence approaching Iran’s missile range would face what he described as “crushing” retaliation.
Dena Destroyer Incident Highlighted
In his remarks, Irani also referenced the destruction of the Dena Destroyer, where 84 Iranian servicemen were reportedly killed and 20 others remain missing following what Iran claims was a U.S. attack in the early stages of the conflict.
He pledged that Iranian naval forces would continue operations until those killed are avenged, framing the conflict in terms of national dignity and resistance.
Rising Regional Tensions
The latest statements reflect growing tensions in the Persian Gulf, where military activity has intensified amid an ongoing confrontation between Iran, the United States, and allied forces. The presence of U.S. naval assets in the region continues to be a focal point of geopolitical friction.
While Iran asserts strong maritime control, U.S. officials have not publicly responded to the latest claims regarding the USS Abraham Lincoln’s movements.
