TEHRAN (ANN) – Senior Iranian official Ali Larijani has sharply criticized remarks by U.S. President Donald Trump, dismissing claims that images of mass protests across Iran were generated using artificial intelligence.
In a statement shared on social media, Larijani mocked the suggestion that millions of Iranians gathering in demonstrations against the United States and Israel were not real, describing the comments as detached from reality. He argued that the protests reflect genuine public sentiment amid escalating tensions in the region.
Escalating War of Narratives
The exchange highlights the growing information war accompanying the broader military confrontation. Competing claims and counterclaims from both sides continue to shape public perception, with officials disputing everything from battlefield outcomes to civilian mobilization.
Claims of Military Escalation
Meanwhile, Iran’s elite force, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), announced a new wave of missile and drone strikes as part of what it calls “Operation True Promise 4.”
According to an official statement, the latest wave targeted what Iran described as Israeli command and control infrastructure as well as U.S.-linked military positions in the region. The IRGC said it used a combination of precision-guided missiles, including Khaybar-Shekan, Emad, Qadr, and Zolfaghar systems, alongside drones.
The statement also claimed strikes were directed toward strategic military sites, including facilities associated with American forces in the Gulf region.
Highly Disputed Claims
These claims could not be independently verified, and neither U.S. nor Israeli authorities have confirmed the reported scale or impact of the strikes.
Similarly, earlier reports alleging major attacks and high-level assassinations remain heavily disputed, with conflicting narratives emerging from different sides of the conflict.

The latest developments come amid a rapidly escalating confrontation involving Iran, the United States, and Israel, raising fears of a broader regional conflict. Military exchanges, political rhetoric, and information campaigns have intensified simultaneously, creating a complex and volatile situation.
