Pyongyang (ANN)— North Korean leader Kim Jong Un has strongly condemned the recent military strikes against Iran by Israel and the United States, describing them as an “illegal act of aggression” and a violation of national sovereignty.
According to statements attributed to Kim and carried by state-aligned outlets, the North Korean leader criticized what he called “the most despicable form of violation of sovereignty from beginning to end,” warning that the aggressors would face consequences.
Kim further signaled that Pyongyang could support Tehran militarily if requested. “If Iran asks, we will provide it with missiles against Israel,” he was quoted as saying, adding a stark warning that “one of them is enough to erase it.”
There has been no independent confirmation from international monitors regarding any imminent military transfer, and no immediate response from Israel, the United States, or Iran to the remarks.
Escalating Rhetoric Amid Regional Conflict
The comments come as tensions remain high following coordinated airstrikes by Israel and the United States on Iranian targets, which have triggered retaliatory missile launches and regional instability.
North Korea has historically aligned itself rhetorically with governments opposed to Washington’s foreign policy, including Iran. While direct military cooperation between Pyongyang and Tehran has been the subject of international scrutiny for years, both countries deny unlawful weapons transfers.
International Concerns
Security analysts note that any confirmed missile transfer from North Korea to Iran would significantly escalate the conflict and draw wider international condemnation. Both North Korea and Iran face extensive international sanctions over their missile and nuclear programs.
The United Nations has previously imposed restrictions on arms transfers involving North Korea under multiple Security Council resolutions.
No Official Confirmation of Arms Transfer
As of now, there is no verified evidence that North Korea has supplied missiles to Iran in connection with the current conflict. The statements appear to be political messaging rather than confirmation of immediate military action.
Regional observers warn that heightened rhetoric from global actors risks widening an already volatile confrontation in West Asia.
