  • Prof Galaydh Leader Leaving Political Councils and Areas of Knowledge of the Somali Community and Horn of Africa

 

Jigjiga, Ethiopia (ANN)-Relatives of the late Dr. Ali Khalif Galaydh, demanded further investigations into the body.After officials in the Somali Regional State of Ethiopia said last night that an investigation had revealed that Galydh had died of COVID-19.

 

Accoding to reports from Jigjiga town in the Somali region of Ethiopia confirm that Prof. Ali Khalif Galaydh has passed away, and after his death there were conflicting reports, with some media officials who spoke to the media saying that the food eaten by the deceased caused diarrhea and dehydration.

But Somali local government officials in Jigjiga have set up a commission of inquiry to determine the cause of death, and they say they have found out that Ali Khalif Galaydh died of the COVID-19 virus.

However, some relatives of the deceased argue that another investigation is needed.

“We are requesting that we be searched, and an investigation will be carried out at the burial place or burial ground if possible,” said Mukhtar Hamud, a relative of the deceased.

Speaking about the cause of the suspicion, he argued that Ali Khalif’s death was due to a food allergy and did not believe he had died of Covid-19 disease. They are therefore demanding further investigation. “He had a stomach ache, he had diarrhea and he was dehydrated. He told us. ‘I think the overeating is the cause of the pain,’ he said. ‘What is this food? Where did I eat it? At first we thought he would recover. ”

 

“We have been told that Covid-19 has died but we do not believe that,” said Mukhtar Hamud, who expressed dissatisfaction with the report of the Somali Regional State of Ethiopia in Jigjiga.

The relatives of the deceased said that his body will be taken to Mogadishu for a national funeral for the late Ali Khalif Galeydh.

Meanwhile, the Prime Minister of the Federal Government of Somalia, Mohamed Hussein Roble has appointed a committee of ministers to organize the funeral of the deceased who is expected to be flown to Mogadishu.

The famous leader Ali Khalif Galaydh is now 78 years old

he was once the leader of Khatumo, before entering into an agreement with the Somaliland government led by President Ahmed Silanyo.

Ali Khalif Galaydh was born on October 15, 1941 in Las Anod, Sool region, Somaliland. He received his bachelor’s degree in political science from Boston University in 1965.

 

He also holds a Master’s degree in Public Administration (M.P.A) and a PhD from Syracuse University in New York.

This qualification is focused on the science of public administration, and from all of the conditions required to become a teacher University.

 

He wrote the book in 1971 and 1972, defending his academic credentials.

From 1982 to 1987 he studied at the Weatherhead Institute of Foreign Affairs and Harvard University in the United States.

Galaydh’s facilities include the Somali Institute of Public Administration (SIPA). Formerly a researcher at the institute, he took over as director general in 1973.

 

He also served as an official in the Somali Ministry of Interior from 1965 to 1967, serving as Deputy District Commissioner.

 

From 1974 to 1976 he was the director of the Jowhar Sugar Project (SNAI). From 1976 to 1982 he managed the Juba Sugar Project (JSP), during the Somali government, and was one of the engine of change, economic, political, military, educational and health during the revolutionary government.

From 1980 to 1982 he was the Minister of Industry in the revolutionary government, headed by Mohamed Siad Barre.

But he was one of the most outspoken scholars and politicians who fled the country after failing to work with the Revolutionary military government.

Dr. Galydh, who later became a professor at a US university, returned to politics at the start of the Arta Conference in Djibouti in 2000 and became a Member of Parliament, before being appointed Prime Minister of Somalia in 2000 under the government of Abdiqasim Salad Hassan. was the Transitional Federal Government of Somalia formed in Djibouti, from October 8, 2000 to October 28, 2001.

But a year and a few months after his government as prime minister, members of parliament at the time withdrew their vote of confidence.

 

On August 20, 2012, Ali Khalif was re-elected as a member of the Somali Federal Parliament, but since 2014, Ali Khalif has been elected president of the Khatumo state of Sool and Sanaag.

Galaydh has been campaigning for the recognition of his administration in Somalia since then, but has not been able to do so. In 2014, Ali Khalif Galaydh was elected president of the Khatumo state, and has since reached an agreement with the Somaliland government led by former Somaliland President Ahmed Silanyo.

He later moved to Hargeisa, where he repeatedly reiterated that the new government of President Bihi would implement the agreement reached with the previous KULMIYE government. Khalif repeated this.

Prof. Ali Khalif Galaydh, now 78, also taught at the University of Minnesota in the United States.

He was an expert politician and scholar, and graduated from the Political Councils and areas of knowledge of the Somali community, the Horn of Africa and the rest of the world.
