Doha (ANN) – Qatar has donated one million dollars to the drought in Somaliland, while the amount donated to the drought in Somaliland is very small.
It is not suitable for the government of Somaliland, they did not accept to cut it off, since the donation is not suitable for the community of Somaliland, which is currently suffering from severe drought, the Qatari government was expected to give more donations from the Qatar Fund for Development (QFFD).
The Qatar Fund for Development (QFFD) announced on Monday that it had signed a $1 million grant agreement with Qatar Charity to provide emergency assistance to communities affected by severe drought in Somaliland.
Accodring to QFFD, The project will support around 9,000 households, including internally displaced families, by improving food security and sustainable access to clean water, QFFD said in a statement on X (formerly Twitter).
Somaliland, like other parts of Somalia, is facing severe drought following below-average Gu rains between April and June, with concerns that the upcoming Deyr season may also bring little or below-average rainfall, further worsening conditions for pastoralist and farming communities. said in the statement of the Qatar Fund for Development.
