Riyadh (ANN)- Saudi Arabia is finalizing a trilateral military pact with Egypt and Somalia, with special focus on Red Sea security and defense cooperation. Accodring to Bloomberg reports.
Meanwhile, Saudi Arabia is also forming a second trilateral defence pact with Pakistan and Turkey according to l Pakistan’s defence production minister Raza Hayat Harraj.
Araweelo News Network to source Bloomberg report says Geopolitical experts warn that the military pact with Egypt and Somalia will transform the Red Sea and Bab al-Mandab Strait from global corridors of commerce into arenas of armed confrontation. Some Saudi accounts on X speak of a “new Saudi axis” against Israel, supported by events in Yemen and Sudan, threatening U.S. and Israeli supply chains in the region.
The military defence pact between Riyadh, Ankara and Islamabad comes just months after the news that Saudi Arabia and Pakistan have signed a security and defense pact called SMDA based on collective security. PakisRtani officials have suggested that the pact extends Pakistan’s nuclear umbrella to Saudi Arabia.

The new trilateral pact will also strengthen Saudi Arabia’s relationship with Turkey, likely complicating Israel’s plans for a normalization of relations with Riyadh. Forbes writes that Saudi Arabia’s new alliances reflects a shift toward self-security and an effort to make the country less reliant on its alliance with the U.S.

The alliance of countries seeking influence in the region, Saudi Arabia, Pakistan, Turkey, and Egypt, with Somalia forming a military alliance against Israel, the UAE, and Somaliland, has come at a time of heightened tensions in the Horn of Africa, the Middle East, and the Gulf.

Tensions have escalated since Israel recognized Somaliland on December 26, which is of great strategic importance to the world.
