Mogadushu (ANN)-The Federal Government of Somalia is engaged in a political and conflict-ridden plan that has already created political chaos and conflict in the eastern Sanag region of Somaliland, where it has already had a negative impact on the conflict and fighting in the eastern Sool region of Las Anod that began in early 2023.

In recent days, local media have reported that militias have emerged from Las Anod, reportedly angry at the Federal Government of Somalia’s policy of intervention that seeks to reignite the conflict in eastern Somaliland in Las Anod. At the same time, elders from eastern Sanag have spoken out, saying that they and their militias have returned to Somaliland.

The Elders’ statement sparked discussions that cast doubt on the security of the Sanag region, and other Elders from the eastern Sanag region spoke out, saying that a conference would be held in the Ceel-buh area of the Sanag region in early July.

The group of elders who supported the militias that emerged from Las-Anod and supported Somaliland, were denied by another group of elders, who openly stated that the conference to be held in Ceel-buh would discuss the future of the eastern Sanag region.

The elders from Badhan were supposed to hold their meeting in Erigavo. We are sorry. Whoever wants to talk about politics should come attend the meeting, said one of the elders from the eastern Sanag region who was speaking at a press conference discussing sensitive issues that have emerged in the region.

These events have come at a time when reports have emerged in recent days that Somali Prime Minister Hamse Abdi Barreh wants to visit the city of Las Anod, seeking to implement a political plan that connects East Las Anod and the eastern Sanag region, and then approve the establishment of a regional administration under the Federal Government, comprising the two regions of eastern Sool and eastern Sanaag in Somaliland.

Some Mogadishu media outlets today reported a meeting in Mogadishu between the Prime Minister of the Federal Government of Somalia and a man named Ali Ahmed Fatah, who claimed to be the leader of Maakhir.

The meeting is a testament to the intervention of the Federal Government of Somalia in eastern Somaliland to create unstability, and to renew the conflict in the area.
Also, the Ceel-Buh conference is part of the political plans of the Federal Government to eliminate the stability of Somaliland and also the Puntland regional administration, which is the experiencing political and hostile actions against Somaliland and Puntland, which came out a Mogadishu administration led by Hamse Abdi Barre and President Hassan Sheikh.

The Puntland regional administration is closely monitoring the political developments in the region, but on the Somaliland side, it is apparent that there is no strong awareness or awareness of the ongoing issues.

The political movements directed from Villa Somalia are not limited to this, but it is possible that there are also groups on social media organizing and carrying out activities aimed at creating instability in the western part of Somaliland. Therefore, the Somaliland government must keep a vigilant eye and monitor these issues closely.
