The ministry previously announced a judicial conference, which was closed by the Supreme Court Chief Justice, who described it as illegal, when Chief Justice Aden Haji Ali announced a judicial conference held by the Supreme Court.

However, the Attorney General of the Republic of Somaliland, Abdirahman Jama Hayyan, issued a statement and informed the Supreme Court Chief Justice that the judicial conference of the Supreme Court should be canceled.

The conflict between the Justice and Judiciary departments of Somaliland is escalating, with contradictory statements being issued and circulated in the media in recent months.

Judicial Conference was discussed by independent lawyers and the Somaliland Bar Association, which supported the Supreme Court Chief Justice’s announcement of the conference.
