Mogadishu (ANN)-The Federal government based in Mogadishu has issued a warning informing the shipping companies that bring goods to Berbera Port that they should not enter the ports and waters of Somaliland unless they have received permission from the Federal Government of Somalia.
The Somali government in Mogadishu has once again launched a ports war against the Republic of Somaliland, after being defeated in the its airspace war.
The Federal government of Somalia has informed the ships and boats going to the ports of Somaliland that they have to get permission from the authorities in Mogadishu.
Also, DP Word, which manages Berbera Port, has been informed about the warning of the Ministry of Ports and Maritime Transport in Somalia.
On the other hand, the Government of Somaliland has opposed the Maritime Administration System [ECTNSomalia] of the Federal Government, by announcing its own system [ECTNSL] to guide every ship and boat bringing goods to the port of Berbera, according to the Somaliland Ports Manager.
“Neither a government other than Somaliland can advise, nor can it implement any law or administrative system regarding the management of ports and seas in Somaliland.” Said Ahmed Ali Diriye.
Somaliland and Puntland have already opposed the air travel system of E-visa, but the Puntland state government has not yet discussed the new decisions of the Mogadishu administration and the taxes imposed on the goods carried by ships and boats entering the ports under the Puntland administration.
