Tel Aviv (ANN)- The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the state of Israel Gideon Sa’a presented to the world how there is nothing in the argument of those who oppose the recognition given by Israel who claim that there was a legal agreement that took place when Somaliland was recognized and recognized on 26 June 1960 and joined Southern Somalia in Italy1 July 1960.
This issue, which is nothing, has now been presented to the world by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Israel, which is a clear response to the African Union.
Mr. Gideon Sa’a has released an important document reminding the world of the official position of the African Union on the issue of Somaliland after the 2005 elections.
The ministry statement said that anyone who has forgotten is required to look at what the African Union itself has decided on the recognition of Somaliland. Said FM Gideon Sa’a.
The ministry referred to the report of the fact-finding mission sent by the African Union to Somaliland in 2005The report clearly stated that the union between Somaliland and Somalia in 1960 was never officially legalized, and it ended in trouble and destruction between 1960 and 1990.
For these reasons, the African Union stated at that time that the search for recognition in Somaliland is historically unique and cannot be compared to other cases in the continent related to new borders.
The document isra! The quoted clearly shows that the case of Somaliland is not seen as opening the door to the destruction of African borders, but it should be viewed in a different way than others.
The African Union then suggested that the Somaliland situation should be discussed in a special way based on the history and destiny of the people living in that area, as it is self-evident. but the African Union has forgotten that the report they wrote about Somaliland after their visit in 2005. They have clearly shown that they are not relevant to the current debate, as the organization’s charter stipulates that nothing should be changed from the colonial borders during the occupation of African countries.
