Washington (ANN)-A senior U.S. intelligence official has stepped down in protest over Washington’s ongoing military campaign against Iran, in a move that underscores growing divisions within the American government.
Joe Kent, director of the National Counterterrorism Center, announced his resignation, stating that he could no longer support the conflict “in good conscience.” In his resignation letter, Kent reportedly questioned the rationale behind the war and expressed concern about the factors that led to its escalation.
