Hargeisa (ANN)- The government of the Republic of Somaliland has addressed the intervention of the Federal Government of Somalia in Somaliland’s issues.
Presidential spokesman Husseen Adan Deyr has issued a statement about this, published in the “X”
“The Mogadishu government’s ridiculous ban on Taiwanese passport holders is a crystal clear act of political theater—an attempt to deflect attention from its own colossal failures by invoking the “One China” pretext and pandering to Beijing’s interests.
This desperate maneuver not only undermines Somalia’s international standing but also exposes its inability to responsibly address pressing domestic problems.
Mogadishu’s decision is pure hypocrisy and double standards! While Somalia bans Taiwanese passport holders, it continues to tolerate widespread corruption and security lapses within its own borders.
This inconsistency highlights a regime more concerned with symbolic gestures than substantive reform—focusing on external scapegoats rather than tackling al-Shabaab insurgency, economic collapse, institutional decay, and governance breakdowns that plague Mogadishu over three decades.”
