Hargeisa (ANN)- The President of the Republic of Somaliland, Abdirahman Mohamed Abdilaahi (Cirro), and the delegation he led, who were on a 3-day working trip to the Republic of Djibouti, returned home this afternoon. The President and his delegation were welcomed at the Egal International Airport by the Vice President of the Somaliland Republic and senior government officials.

The President and his delegation, who held meetings with his Djiboutian counterpart and other officials during their stay in Djibouti, also held a large-scale meeting with the Somaliland community in Djibouti.

The President of the Republic of Somaliland underlined the great importance for the two countries to have strong and brotherly relations, which, he noted, is the basis for continuous cooperation and partnership, brotherhood, mutual respect, and working together on issues affecting both countries in the Horn of Africa region.

Djibouti President Ismail Omar Gelleh hosted a dinner for the Somaliland presidential delegation before they left the country.

On the other hand, the President of Somaliland and his delegation visited the Doraleh Container Terminal free zone port.


A statement issued by the port authority said, “This morning, the Chairman had the honor of welcoming His Excellency Mr. Abdirahman Mohamed Abdullahi, President of Somaliland, and his delegation to Red Sea World.
Held in a spirit of cordiality and mutual respect, the meeting marks a significant milestone in the development of regional integration and economic partnership.”

Also present at the meeting were Mr. Hassan Houmad Ibrahim, Minister of Infrastructure and Equipment, Mr. Radwan Abdillahi Bahdon, Minister of Communication in charge of Posts and Telecommunications, as well as several senior officials from DPFZA. said a statement issued by the port of authority.

The port authority also said that the Somaliland President and his delegation visited other important sites. The visit provided them with an opportunity to observe the terminal’s state-of-the-art technological and logistical capabilities, as well as its pivotal role in maritime trade across the Horn of Africa. SGTD officials showcased the terminal’s cutting-edge infrastructure, operational procedures, and the various initiatives in place to enhance the efficiency of both maritime and land transport flows.

This visit reinforces the shared vision of strengthening regional connectivity and promoting sustainable economic growth through partnerships in the port and logistics sectors.
