Sana’a(ANN)-The Saudi-led coalition carried out more than 46 air strikes across Yemen over the past two days, the Houthi-run Saba News Agency reported today.

Up to 58 people were injured including a child in the capital Sana’a, an area which has been under the control of the Houthis since September 2014. The strikes pounded the Dahban area, along with two air strikes in Nehm district.

In the northern Houthi stronghold of Saada, two civilians were reported injured, whilst three airstrikes struck the Hamazat and Malahidh area of Dhaher district.

Strikes also targeted the port-city Hudaydah destroying a water purification factory and a civilian compound.

Saudi Arabia is leading a coalition of Arab states to neutralise territorial threats posed by the Houthis. It joined the conflict in the country in March 2015.

According to UN officials, more than 10,000 people have been killed in the civil war, while more than 11 per cent of the country’s population has been displaced.

Britain is equipping Saudi Arabia with high-tech military grade weapons amid heavy criticism of human rights and war crimes violations in Yemen. But last year, a British High Court ruled that the sales of arms to Saudi Arabia are lawful despite the concerns of violating international humanitarian law.
