Hargeisa(ANN)-The Somaliland government says it has set aside $ 3 million for the prevention of the fight against COVID-19.


On the other hand, the Somaliland government has called on Somaliland businessmen and international donors to play their part and pledge their contribution to the Covid-19, Infectious Disease Fund.


According to a brief statement posted on the President’s on Twitter.


The president of the Republic of Somaliland said, “Declared Somaliland COVID-19 Fund to combat the Pandemic in #Somaliland. The Government donated the first 3 million USD to the Fund. We made an appeal to the business people & international donors to also contribute to the Fund, in the fight against COVID-19.” said statement posted on the President’s on Twitter.

Six cases of Covid-19 infection have been reported in Somaliland, but no research has been done on the community to make sure there are more cases.

The Somaliland Ministry of Health has in recent days claimed that one of five cases of Coronavirus infection has recovered, but another has been discovered.
