John Steppling, an author and commentator, believes the United States is actively backing Saudi Arabia in its military aggression against Yemen, adding that Washington has always supported the “most repressive regimes” and the “leading human rights violators” in the world for its own economic interests.

“Saudi aggression the last 20 months against Yemen … has been aided and funded partly by the US. The Saudis are flying US made fighter jets, they are dropping US made munitions on the poorest Arab country in the world,” Steppling told PressTV in an interview on Saturday.

“So Saudis always get a pass, they have extraordinarily deep pockets and they are the number one purchaser of weapons from the United States,” he noted.
