Tehran (ANN)- An informed Iranian source has firmly rejected claims of ongoing negotiations between Donald Trump and Iran, amid the intensifying conflict involving the United States and Israel.
Speaking to local media, a senior security official stressed that no discussions have taken place, contradicting recent statements by Trump suggesting “productive conversations” toward resolving hostilities. The source described such claims as part of a broader psychological and political strategy during wartime.
According to the official, Iran’s strong and credible military response has forced Washington to reconsider its posture. Reports indicate that Trump has backed away from threats to strike Iran’s critical infrastructure, including energy facilities, following warnings of severe retaliation.
The Iranian source also highlighted mounting pressure from global financial markets, suggesting that instability in Western bond markets and fears of economic disruption have contributed to the shift in US rhetoric.
No Negotiations, Continued Military Readiness
Despite messages reportedly delivered through mediators, Tehran’s position remains unchanged. The official emphasized that Iran will continue its defensive operations until it achieves what it calls “necessary deterrence.”
“No negotiations are ongoing or have taken place,” the source reiterated, warning that the region will not return to pre-war conditions anytime soon. The strategic Strait of Hormuz and global energy markets are expected to remain volatile under current circumstances.
War Escalation and Retaliation
The conflict escalated after a large-scale military campaign launched by the United States and Israel, which Iran describes as unprovoked aggression. The situation further intensified following the reported assassination of Ali Khamenei, along with senior military officials.
In response, Iranian forces have carried out waves of missile and drone strikes targeting US and Israeli positions across the region. The attacks have caused significant damage and heightened fears of a broader regional war.
Trump’s Ultimatum
Trump recently announced a five-day pause on potential strikes against Iran’s energy infrastructure, linking the decision to the alleged progress of discussions. However, Iranian officials dismissed the move as a continuation of pressure tactics rather than a genuine step toward diplomacy.
The Iranian source warned that any ultimatum from Washington would be met with continued resistance, signaling that the conflict is far from de-escalation.
