The vehicle, owned by the jubaland Chamber of Commerce, was traveling when the blast hit a group of youth football players playing under the name of the jubaland Chamber of Commerce (JCCI).

People close to the scene, said the bus was completely burnt out after a landmine exploded, killing three of the players and injuring the rest of the team.

jubaland ambulances and security forces arrived late and began removing the bodies and wounded youths. People close to the scene of the blast told Araweelo News Network.

The jubaland administration has strongly condemned the attack, according to a statement from the jubaland presidency, which said three members of the team were killed and several others were injured in the blast.

The blast was blamed on Al-Shabaab, according to a statement from the Jubaland administration.

“Al-Shabaab is committed to targeting everyone, deliberately targeting influential people such as youth, academics and the public eye, which proves that they are turning a blind eye to the Somali people as a whole.” said, the statement.

The President of jubaland, Ahmed Mohamed Islam (Ahmed Madobe), called on the Somali people to unite to defeat this group and save the rest of our society, Was added to the statement.

The jubaland administration extends its condolences to all members of the jubaland sports community for the loss of life caused by the blast, and prays to God to provide water for the young people, and wishes the injured a speedy recovery.

Meanwhile, the President of the Federal Republic of Somalia, Mohamed Abdullahi Farmajo, condemned the attack, calling it a testament to the fact that he called “terrorists” enemies of Somali youth. He offered his condolences on the deaths of the young athletes and wished the injured a speedy recovery.

Al-Shabaab, which is at war with the Somali federal government and regional administrations, has not commented on allegations of involvement in the bombings, but the group often carries out attacks and bombings in Somalia, where it has long been at war with the government of Somalia and AMISOM troops in Somalia.
