Berbera (ANN) -A well-organized ceremony was held on Saturday in Berbera, the capital of Sahil region, to unveil the modernization and equipping of Berbera International Airport.
The President of the Republic of Somaliland, HE Muse Bihi Abdi, has unveiled a state-of-the-art, state-of-the-art facility with equipments in Artificial Intelligence, Machine learning and latest technologies to identify and block suspicious activities.
The ceremony was attended by Ambassador Abdullah Al Niqab, UAE Ambassador to Somaliland, UAE officials, Somaliland national party leaders, members of the cabinet, senators and other dignitaries.
The President of the Republic of Somaliland, Muse Bihi Abdi, has announced that the Berbera International Airport (BIA) will be a world-class passenger and cargo terminal in line with ancient African airports, the Airport Africa’s longest and most modern in Afrika.
“BIA now boasts of having – perhaps – the longest runway in Africa. Along with the burgeoning, greatly developed port, I envisage a great future for Berbera Airport as one of the busiest, most used airports in Africa given its strategic location in the region,”said president Bihi.
