Addis Ababa(ANN)- Ethiopian Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed says he has decided to lead his country’s military in the fight against the TDF and become a leader fighter.

But Prime Minister Abiy, who has repeatedly turned a deaf ear to calls for an end to the Ethiopian conflict in the Horn of Africa region, has now publicly stated that he is the “prime minister” to going fort leading his country’s forces to the scene.

That  is a big surprise for the world, as Abiy,  was the winner of the Nobel Peace Prize, although the fierce war that has been going on for year and above will be accounted for by the consequences of genocide and atrocities.

“This is a time when leading a country with martyrdom is needed,” Abiy Ahmed said in a statement posted on social media Monday night. With rival Tigray forces moving closer to the capital of Addis Ababa, his government declared the past week a state of emergency earlier this month.

The prime minister’s remarks came as diplomatic activity erupted in Addis Ababa and Mekelle in recent days, with former Nigerian president Obosanjo expressing hope that the two sides would hold talks.

Abiy, however, claims that the West is trying to defeat the Ethiopians, pushing back what his government calls interference by the international community. Delegates from the African Union and the United States have continued their diplomatic efforts to seek a ceasefire and dialogue without preconditions for a political solution.

Fighting in Ethiopia has been going on for more than a year since November 2020, after the Ethiopian Federal Government’s military, backed by Eritrean troops and Amhara militias, invaded Tigray, killing hundreds and displacing thousands to Sudan. , and at the same time horrific violence and atrocities of genocide, rape and isolation in the area and denied access to humanitarian aid and relief supplies

The long-running conflict has taken a heavy toll on Ethiopia, with the TDF allied with other militias advancing on the capital Addis Ababa in recent weeks, seizing strategic towns in the Amhara and Afar regions. Prime Minister Abiy’s declaration that he is leading the war and going to the brink of war is a clear indication that the situation in the war has reached an unpredictable level of darkness in Ethiopia and the war could turn into ethnic conflict and, The path of destruction in Yugoslavia.
