Hargeisa (ANN)-A Journalist Abdisalan Mohamed Jama (Abdisalan Germany) has been missing since January 4, 2022. After a plain-clothes army took him from his home in Hargeisa.

Residents of the house showed their identities, prompting him to accompany Abdisalam, but his whereabouts have not been confirmed for nearly a week, with relatives, family and the Somaliland Journalists Association (SOLJA) searching for his whereabouts.

The Somaliland Journalists Association (SOLJA) has strongly condemned the arrest of the journalist and called for his immediate release.

SOLJA, They also issued a statement condemning, calling on the security agencies to confirm the arrest of Abdisalam in order to monitor his condition.

Incidents of imprisonment of journalists and others detained on political and freedom of expression issues are not new in Somaliland, although the number of arrests has risen sharply in past 2021.

But what is new in Somaliland is the increasing number of abductions of journalists, which has led to a lack of recognition of the location and reasons for their detention.

Such practices, contrary to the constitution and the law of the land, can lead to issues that threaten the safety of Somaliland journalists.

Journalist Abdisalam Mohamed Jama (Abdisalan Germany), the reason for his arrest and whereabouts are still unknown, and no one can confirm his whereabouts.

Abdisalam Germany, a frequent critic of President Bihi’s government, has recently spoken out about the imprisonment of journalist Abdimalik Muse Oldon, who has been in prison for more than four months.
