Hargeisa(ANN)-The government of the Republic of Somaliland, has reacted strongly to the Villa Somalia faction of President Mohamed Abdullahi Farmajo who was jealous of the British Parliament’s debate on the issue of Somaliland’s recognition.

At a meeting of the Somaliland Council of Ministers on Thursday, the issue was discussed, and a strong warning was issued to the Mogadishu government, which the Somaliland government said was accustomed to interfering in the issue of the independence of the Republic of Somaliland.

Somaliland, Muse Bihi Abdi, who presided over the conference, said that the Somaliland government would like to thank the British Parliament for this week’s debate on the issue of Somaliland’s recognition, in which British lawmakers took part in presenting the reality of Somaliland. Governance, electoral democracy and stability.

“The Somaliland Council of Ministers thanks the UK Parliament for the debate on the issue of the independence of the Republic of Somaliland.” said the statement.

The Somaliland cabinet would like to express its gratitude to the parliamentarians who strongly supported the cause of the Republic of Somaliland, who sincerely stated that the Republic of Somaliland must be recognized by the international community. The Council of Ministers, on the other hand, thanked the Somaliland Diaspora in the UK and commended them for their continued role in the quest for recognition of their country and for their tireless efforts.

The Somaliland Cabinet, therefore, calls on all Somaliland Diaspora in the rest of the world and Somaliland citizens in the country, to defend the Somaliland cause and the ongoing recognition process, both orally and in writing.” according to the statement.
